Lets put this ridiculous notion that Obama is the anti-christ to bed. Its foolishness and makes those who claim it fools. He does not meet any biblical requirements to be the anti-christ. Now, he could be AN anti-christ but I am not sure just being a liberal makes him that. We, as conservative christians, have some serious reservations about Obama. In this it could be our perception that Obama's beliefs are immoral and not Christ like. I think, from what he supports, that position is viable. In that sence Obama's positions could be considered wicked and with that in mind, he seems to have prospered. Why? Why did God allow Obama to be elected? I don't know. "You" don't know either. I expect we will find out. I expect, if Obama's positions are truly evil, he will not prosper in the end. That...is what happens in the end to those who thwart God's will. There are always reprecussions for evil actions and beliefs. We might not see them here on earth...but we might as well. The proof will be in the pudding. I know some here are excited a liberal, as defined today, has been elected and their ideals might be implimented. I expect, they will not.

Find me one who claims to possess an entire system of beliefs that aren't immoral/offensive to anyone, and I dare say that I will find you a liar. Be they conservative or liberal. quote:

Some of his views are definitely going to irk people (to say the least). As I said, he's a politician, and I fully agree that he could just as easily fall flat on his face and look like a chump as he could bring honor back to the White House. Time will tell. But this whole "Obama is the anti-christ business has GOT to stop.

To many people have devoted that title to men who have come and gone. Having the works *of* or *like* the anti-christ... well that surely is possible, because as we are told... that spirit is already in the world and rears its ugly head in many ways--but the main way is that he will deny that the Christ, the *needed savior* of the *whole world* has come in the flesh.

If by your definition of being "blessed" is somehow related to being wealthy with money, I don't believe that God has anything to do with the amount of cash anyone accumulates. Winning the lottery is no blessing by God. Money is the root of all evil, so why would God willingly bless anyone with the root of all evil? Being wealthy is a curse to most anyone who has it. If you are rich and do not do good deeds with the wealth you have, instead you hoard it and lavish yourself with material items for your own pleasure, how could any Christian feel that being wealthy is a blessing. I don't believe that God causes people to gain financial wealth in any circumstance, however I'm sure that He has done much to help out those who need financial help in time of need when asked upon. My point is that I find it discouraging to think that anyone would believe that God chose them to be blessed with wealth when Jesus clearly states that money is evil. Being rich is only good if you are willing to do as much as you can with your money to help out others who need it more. How many lives did you save with all your God give wealth? How many starving children did you feed with the wealth that God bestowed upon you? Did you ever stop to help out a homeless person on the street with your wealth or did you judge them and ignore them and thank God you he chose you to be wealthy and live a better life than the homeless person? Being wealthy is a curse and I don't believe that everyone who is wealthy is blessed. In fact I believe the exact opposite ... that few who are wealthy are blessed.

Being wealthy is a curse I think you have your ideologies confused. This is about christianity...not marxism. Edited to add... There are many wicked poor people too. Financial status does not determine one's salvation.

Well then those who consider themselves wealthy had better get pretty good at riding their camels through the eye of a needle. Wealth is only good if it is used to do good for others, not yourself. Don't fool yourself into believing God loves you more than someone else because your desire for money allowed you to accumulate more than your neighbor. Money has become an idol that blinds many from the Truth and The Light. There may not be a biblical scripture that supports what I proclaim, but I see it everywhere I go as do you, I'm sure. It's just so much harder for people who have wealth to admit what they know is true which is why for most of the wealthy it really is a curse. I'll leave it at that. If you believe I'm confused then I'm sorry that my point did come across to you, but from my perspective, you are the one who is blind.

IN CONTEXT... Jesus preached against the common held belief in those times that to be wealthy was the result of holy living. In other words wealth was equated with being holy and poverty was the result of sin. Jesus came against these ideals. Jesus came against wealth worship, not wealth itself. Wealth idolotry...is just as bad a poverty idolotry. If your money is causing you to sin..send it to me. quote:
Don't fool yourself into believing God loves you more than someone else because your desire for money allowed you to accumulate more than your neighbor. Do you understand marxism? The villification of the rich? The empowerment of the masses...yeah right. Marxism DENIES Christ. quote:
There may not be a biblical scripture that supports what I proclaim Then..why proclaim it? When socialism trumps your relationship with God, then, like that evil rich guy you want to steal from, you have an idol. quote:
but I see it everywhere I go as do you ahh...covetness. I will tell you what I see. I go to a very affluent church with all those evil greedy rich people..who support countless ministries...who give of their time...who resemble Christ. No their not perfect....no one is. Its a group of people, in any group there are those less than perfect people...ya know...they are called...humans.

Regarding the original question, the following Psalm is interesting -- quote:
Psalm 73:1 . . . I had nearly lost my foothold. 3 For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. 4 They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. 5 They are free from the burdens common to man; they are not plagued by human ills. 6 Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence. 7 From their callous hearts comes iniquity; the evil conceits of their minds know no limits. 8 They scoff, and speak with malice; in their arrogance they threaten oppression. 9 Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth. 10 Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance. 11 They say, "How can God know? Does the Most High have knowledge?" 12 This is what the wicked are like-- always carefree, they increase in wealth. 13 Surely in vain have I kept my heart pure; in vain have I washed my hands in innocence. 14 All day long I have been plagued; I have been punished every morning. 15 If I had said, "I will speak thus," I would have betrayed your children. 16 When I tried to understand all this, it was oppressive to me 17 till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny. 18 Surely you place them on slippery ground; you cast them down to ruin. 19 How suddenly are they destroyed, completely swept away by terrors! 20 As a dream when one awakes, so when you arise, O Lord, you will despise them as fantasies.
